Czech Industry for ITER

Czech Industry for ITER

The Czech Republic is one of the countries able to design, build, and safely operate nuclear power plants and, if needed, to upgrade them. Currently, the Czech Republic operates two NPPs with six units powered by pressurized water reactors of the Russian VVER type. The plants have been built with a strong reliance on deliveries by domestic engineering, manufacturing and supplying companies.

Czech research and development in nuclear technology rests on 50 years of history, represented primarily by the Řež Nuclear Research Institute; by research centers of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic; by university faculties; and some other institutes, organizations and companies.
The previous achievements of Czech industry and its subsequent success in developing nuclear and nuclear-related technologies qualifies Czech research and development facilities and the country‘s production and supply firms as suitable for joining the ITER Project.

This publication aims to demonstrate that Czech industry can offer a vast pool of experience in different disciplines of nuclear technology. Czech companies can also present excellent references, and both are ready to successfully participate in all sections of the ITER Project.

This brochure lists companies that feel confident of winning tenders for the provision of services and the deliveries of equipment, and seriously interested in the ITER Project and its successful implementation.

The publication is intended to help purchasing staff buy components and services and to assist the suppliers of turnkey investment units in their search for sub-suppliers and cooperating companies.
